Tradisional Food & Local Fruits

Homestay Seri  Kayangan villagers offer a variety of food from sweets to the savoury and the spicy. Rice or “nasi” is the staple food here and can be eaten with  chicken, meat, seafood and vegetables as well. The unique local favourites such as “Nasi Ambeng”,”Pecal Lele”,”Sayur Pucuk Ubi”, and the most popular “ Nasi Lemak” are specially prepared for tourist to taste. Below is an example of the local food  served in buffet style by Homestay Seri Kayangan:

There are various type of local fruit that available throughout the year such as mango, banana, guava, coconut and jackfruits meanwhile durian, rambutan, langsat, duku and  mangosteen are available during certain season.
             

About Seri Kayangan Homestay



Homestay is one of the best ways to experience the culture of the local community and enjoy the beauty of the village. Staying with foster families for few days, recognise their culture, experiencing their daily livelihood and tasting their local food is the best way to know a country and get close to the local community.

Seri Kayangan Homestay is located approximately 150 km north of Kuala Lumpur, in the district of Sabak Bernam, Selangor. It consist of two villages, Kampung Tebuk Baru,Bagan Terap & Kampung To’ Kalifah. Seri Kayangan Homestay was establish in 2006 and start off with only 7 houses. The friendly and warm villagers make staying at this homestay a memorable “Kampung” memory.

This typical Malay village with Javanese heritage offers unique cultural experience for tourist to enjoy. Tourist can learn Malay dances and will be welcomed by the beat of Kompang drum. Tourist also will be entertained with the mystical moves of Kuda Kepang & a demonstration of self-defense technique called silat.
